Many people today think they are praying in faith when in reality they are being presumptuous.
Real praying involves heart searching, confession of sin, and discerning God's will. The Lord may give grace to go through a very difficult experience rather than deliver us from it. Therefore, whether we seek His face for our own needs or those of others, we must do so with an intense desire to please Him. Notice Paul's entreaty in Romans 15:30.."Now I beseech you, brethren... that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me."
This suggests strenuous effort, but its rewards are beyond measure. We may not always receive what we would like, but we will always be given His best. And that's what really counts! (DB)
When praying, don't give God instructions - report for duty!
